Newly established Virgin Blue Velocity Program has not only gained enough votes to enter but also win an award in the prestigious 18th Annual 'Freddie Awards' held in Los Angeles. The 'Freddies', named after Sir Freddie Laker, the 1970s airline pioneer, and sponsored by Inside Flyer magazine have been running for 18 years. There are 9 categories of awards for airline and hotel loyalty programmes which are voted for by the frequent travelers themselves in the various regions of the world.
