Hitit Awarded First Prize At National Operations Research Industrial Engineering Congress

Hitit's Crane Crew system was awarded first prize at the 31st National Operations Research Industrial Engineering Congress: Solutions Awards.  Hitit was selected ahead of other strong finalists; Bosch, Arcelik and Karmetal.

The award was given for the Automated Crew Rostering Module, an optimization module which was developed in partnership with Crane Crew launch client Pegasus Airlines and research academia from the Bosphorous University in Istanbul.  The Automated Crew Rostering Module which took two years to develop, went live at Pegasus Airlines on May 1st 2011.  With the use of the advanced optimisation module, airlines will be able to more effectively utilize resources by planning rosters automatically on a monthly basis.

In awarding 1st place to Hitit, Associate Professor Dr. Can Akkan stated that apart from the obvious benefits of the module, the solution was deemed by the jury to provide an excellent example of academic and industrial cooperation in developing innovative solutions.
